"...Centuries ago the wealthy shared who they were and what they stood for through portraiture and Sabrina Rosenheim combines this traditional medium with modern communication to create her 'painted video calls' that bring the two together in her unique way that brings a fresh new take to portraiture.”
Tabish Khan, The London Art Critic
A series of hand painted animations informed by contemporary voices in diaspora communities. The Third Space is based on exchanges with London-based immigrants who converse in pairs, each speaking in their native language. The resulting animation forms an extended conversation across multiple languages in which the complexities of ‘identity and community [are] realised through language’ (Homi K. Bhabha).
